Ah, teenagers! Never again are the years so exciting and dreadful at the same time! There is most certainly an abundance of concerns surrounding teenagers, from their grades, to their friends, to their hygiene and, of course, choosing that first love! Here at Smile More Orthodontics, we’ll absolutely take care of the smile and leave all the other fun stuff to you! Have questions? That’s only natural when considering something as important as this. You may wonder does my child have to have braces? Are there other options? Should I care about their overbite? Will the headgear do more social good than harm? (Kidding!)
Questions like those are sometimes difficult to answer because, in this case, teenagers happen to be quite right! They are all, in fact, different! Every teenager will have their own personal treatment that works best to give them a great smile. Some will need braces and rubber bands, and some might opt for Invisalign Teen, but all will need retainers! And the hardest part of it all, you ask? It’s definitely making sure they don’t forget where they left their retainer! Although quite simple in reality, we realize the first steps can sometimes be a little frightening. But they are, in fact, quite painless and easy! You will meet the team, take some photos and X-rays, take a few easy measurements, and voilà! That’s it! Any questions along the way, and we are right beside you to answer them all!
Common Teen Treatment Options
Whether you want to express your own personal style with metal braces and colorful bands or prefer a more aesthetic treatment option with clear ceramic braces, you can rest assured that you’ll receive the same great care with the same great results!
Conventional Braces
Metal braces are smaller, less noticeable, and more comfortable than ever before. Normal metal braces work great for nearly everyone. These include custom brackets and wires for each patient. This type of treatment is very helpful if particular movements are needed for the best result. They are also great when rubber bands are needed for bite correction.
Clear Braces
An excellent option for teens and adults. Clear braces (also known as clear braces, tooth-colored braces, esthetic braces, or even porcelain braces) have all the advantages of normal braces, with the added luxury of them being radiolucent and clear. Transparent brackets look beautiful and work using normal wires, etc., just like normal braces.
